What is Ceramic & Stone?

The key differences between ceramic and stone tiles, in terms of practical use, mostly cover sealing and maintenance. Natural stone needs to be sealed regularly to protect it from stains, particularly those caused by liquid corrosion. With ceramic tiles, liquid corrosion isn’t a risk and therefore sealing is unnecessary.

Natural stone is vulnerable to acid damage, and you’ll, therefore, need to avoid acidic cleaners, as it will cause a permanent stain. Sealing the surface will minimize but not outright mitigate spills from acidic liquids, such as vinegar. Ceramic tiles can, however, be cleaned using any cleaning agent you wish.
